Kirby Pieri began his academic journey at three different institutions: The University of Nebraska at Omaha, Dakota County Technical College, and The University of St. Thomas, where he ultimately graduated in May 2024. He earned a major in Real Estate Studies and a minor in Philosophy. Kirby was also a dedicated baseball player, participating at all three colleges, including during St. Thomas’s inaugural Division I campaign.

At St. Thomas, Kirby was chosen to serve on the prestigious Damus Board, a select group of ten students tasked with reviewing and awarding grants to non-profit organizations. In addition, he represented the university in the NAIOP Challenge, competing against other Midwest schools. As part of his team, Kirby’s primary responsibility was financial modeling, where he applied his analytical skills to real estate development projects.

In June 2024, Kirby launched his professional career at Upland Real Estate Group, Inc. Working alongside experienced brokers, learning and supporting the team. Thanks to the connections and skills he developed during college, Kirby has quickly adapted to the fast-paced world of real estate. As this is his first role out of college, he remains eager to learn from seasoned professionals while actively seeking new business accounts for Upland..

A former athlete, Kirby found that working in brokerage allows him to channel his competitive drive into chasing deals. He has become actively involved in the real estate community, joining groups such as NAIOP Developing Leaders, the Retail Brokers Network, and other young broker associations.

Outside of the office, Kirby remains active, staying connected with friends through pickleball, volleyball, and adult hockey and baseball leagues. His love for game continues through coaching youth baseball at Pitch2Pitch, a role he’s retained for seven years. He also spent his summer weekends working as a docker at Maynard’s restaurant in Excelsior, MN, continuing to foster connections both personally and professionally.
